OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Consciously led, we mindfully create our collections with passion for both design and the world we live in.

At HouseThirteen we like to make sure we run as responsibly, ethically and as environmentally friendly as possible. We are taking steps towards cleaning up our home and doing business mindfully. Our pieces are ethically handmade from largely recycled materials using traditional methods, our packaging is recycled & recyclable and as plastic-free as possible. Our impact is small, and we are always working on not only further decreasing this impact, but actively increasing the positivity we put into our world.

HouseThirteen is a British-designed jewellery label by Stephanie Fleming, first imagined on the island of Bali, with operations now straddling both Indonesia and London. All pieces are handmade by skilled craftsmen who sculpt top quality sterling silver, with gold pieces then dipped in 18-karats.

We look to the past for our collections, taking inspiration from the bubble gum Art Deco buildings that line Miami's South Beach. We identified some key elements that we love, stripped them back then injected our own design aesthetic to create classic, delicate pieces. These art deco-inspired designs are mixed with everyday "Foundation" pieces to create a simple, wearable, and highly adaptable collection.

HouseThirteen likes to play with traditional jewellery forms, presenting a range of stackable pieces, ear jackets, double-stranded necklaces and easily mix-and-match-able pieces which can be worn a number of ways. In other words, classic design presented in new ways.

WHO WE ARE

Hi, I’m Steph. Founder and designer at House Thirteen. I currently live in Tring, Hertfordshire with my family but the story of House Thirteen begins on the other side of the world, on the island of Bali. Having spent many years in Indonesia both during school and at the start of my career, I became interested in Bali’s strong silversmithing heritage and so started designing jewellery, at first for for myself, in 2015. It was during a work trip to Miami that I fell in love with the bubble-gum Art Deco buildings that lined South Beach and wanted to bring some of those elements to life. And so, House Thirteen was born.

Although I have spent a number of years abroad, I always felt lucky to have a solid base in the UK and so naturally wanted to call my business after it, house number 13. It’s the home I grew up in, the home I always returned to, and the home that my kids now play at when they visit their grandparents. My home, my centre and now my business, welcome to House Thirteen.
